Long-distance love is still love

I was talking with a friend of mine about long-distance relationships and cyber dating and she insisted that they arent successful.

'No, way could it work imagine not being able to see each other for months or weeks on end, tensions are bound to rise she strongly suggested.

I beg to differ, a relationship can not only survive the long-distance but also thrive.

HAVE A PLAN
Like in any relationship you need to know what you want from it as well as establish what you and your partner will need to make it work. Obviously in the early stages of your long-distance relationship you would have to decide on how you and your partner will make it work.

CONSTANT COMMUNICATION
Communication is key in any relationship but it is even more important when it comes to long-distances. From constant calls to avid visits even skyping.
We live in a technological era where instant messeging is the order of the day from bbms to whatsapps to IM's.

DO THINGS TOGETHER
Whenever you and your partner are together make memory's. Visit the zoo, go to the movies. Being together does not have to cost money. Even when apart you can still do thingr together. From dinner dates via skype to videos of exciting things that happened to you during the day.

Long-distance relationships should not be a negative thing. They can work, one can not close themselves from love just because there afraid of the distance between. Love conqures all including something as futile as distance

BOMBSHELL WITH A PEN IN HAND

We decided to meet at Primi Piatti in the Waterfront. She suggested it said it had a killer vibe, great atmosphere and hearty food.

From humble beginnings in the Eastern Free State, Rethabile Radebe is well on her way to making it big in the Journalism World. Question on your minds is who is she?

FAMILY AFFAIR
Family is important to her because she says they form part of the very first foundation of "friendship". 'I didn't know this as a teenager, but now I'm friends with my family and they mean the world to me. They are my ride or die people, people who accepted and loved me with the flaws, the mistakes and disappointments." '

THE JOURNALIST IN HER
Rethabile chose Journalism because of her love for writing. Her passion for verbal fighting and for people who can't fight for themselves. 'I dislike what the government does, abusing the proletarait. "I want to be the mouthpiece of the people." '

FOODIE
Rethabile's favourite dish would be tripe, otherwise known as interstines."I especially love cow tripe. I love it hot with freshly baked homemade bread. Yum!"

QUOTES & INSPIRATIONS
Rethabile looks up to Beyoncè, King Bey has worked very hard without compromising her true self and she's a feminist she said.
Her favorite quote is "I love you and Jesus loves you" said by every single person that ever said that to me, it toys with her emotions in the nicest of ways.

LAYING HER ROOTS
'I want to live in the Northern Cape in Sutherland,' she told me. The fact that in Winter it snows, she loves that it's quite a small place, away from the noise and the concrete jungle. 'I love "farm-like" places, they give me sanity.'

SECRECY BILL
'When exposing a crime is treated as commiting a crime, you are being ruled by criminals.' Rethabile feels that we are being ruled by criminals and they are introducing this, so they can be above the law.

Watching with baited breath as this rising star shines!

Graduation fever hits UFS shores. . .

From 8 April to 11 April the University of Free State held their autumn graduations the first graduations of the year 2014.  The University of Free State has two graduations annually the autumn graduation and spring graduation which takes place around September.
The long walk to Callie Human by the graduates and Prof. Jonathan Jansen and his team accompanied by the drum beats by the music students set the mood of excitement and anticipation.
As the graduates filled the bottom of the Callie Human hall. With tons of proud parents, friends, wives and husbands as well as well wishers looking on.
The autumn graduations took place in different divisions, the universities different faculties had there chance to shine. The 9 April graduation ceremony saw the humanties faculty and other faculty graduates.
The smell of success, joy and pure pride was the order of the day at Callie Human.
The excited faces of graduates and proud screams from parents and claps from fellow graduates.
Inspirational words came from the Rector Prof. Jonathan Jansen and comedian Loyiso Gola.
Nothing like words of success and motivation especially from successful people who have already made it in life.
From honor degrees, degrees, diplomas to certificates were awarded to more or less 2000 graduates.
Some graduates included a few of our SRC members. Phiwe Mathe president of the SRC was among the graduates.
After the Graduation ceremony the graduates took photos at the Mainbuilding and waterfall between HMS and CRS building as well as at the Exam room.

CROP TOPS THE CREAM OF THE CROP.

The plague of the Crop Tops have invaded our campus it has become a norm to see a girls belly button while you have your lunch in the bridge.
Crop Tops can be traced back to the age of  belly dancers, even though they have changed a bit.
Crop Tops are tshirts or blouses cut at the bottom revealing the belly button. The trend has definitely caught on and take our campus by storm. Every turn you make in and around campus you see girls where it where its the track tshirt type or the blouse type. Although there are many mixed reactions about them here are some views from Kovsies students:
Relebohile: I totally love the crop tops especially the blouse and tops, i am not quiet a fan of the sporty ones but they are gorguese.
Cinga: No, No. I would not allow my girlfriend to wear that nonsense. Imagine walking with your girlfriend and her bellly button is out in the open for everyone to see.
Senzi: I don't really like these tops i thinking they are to revealing i would never be caught wearing it, even though some girls wear them with high-waisted pants and high-waisted skirts. But I still find them very inappropriate, we as women need to wear modest clothes.
Odette: I love the crop top, its very stylish and I own quiet a few of them.
Envor: They are nice I have seen them on campus. I don't think they are inappropriate. Women should wear what ever they want without being critisized.
The crop tops are in my opinion quiet lovely, I think they are great for the summer. They give me the impression that whoever is wearing them is quiet carefree and open-minded. I mean not everyone would be comfortable wearing a top that shows your belly button. Hence me thinking that they are quiet carefree. Some girls who are not as comfortable are seen wearing the top with high waist pants and skirts.
Whether or not you are in favor of them they have arrived at Kovsies.

Hi all my name is Nthatisi Motlokoa but everyone calls me "Tisci". With no relation to the designer Richardo Givenchy Tisci lol.
I am 22 years old 3rd year Media studies and Journalism student at the University of the Free State.
I am a lover of fashion, I mean who can resist a good pair of luella shoes or a calvin klein shopper bag. I am very much into vintage fashion my moms closet is my little haven...
I am a music and  movie fanatic my life would be considerably dull without them.
Another addiction of mine is cars, big muscle cars, sports cars, cars, cars, cars...

I have a big fear or rather anxiety towards animals, for the life of me i can not understand how on earth people can live with animals in their houses be it a dog, cat or even something as tiny as a hamster.
I am afraid of rejection whatever kind of rejection there maybe. It scares the heck out of me.

My aspirations in life are becoming an academia, as cliche as this may sound I strongly believe in the saying education is the key to success. Having more than one qualification under my belt is one of my aspirations. Like Vuyo from the castle lager advert I am a "BIG BIG DREAMER". I dream of becoming a world traveler. Travel around the world from Mozambique, to Rio De Janeiro, to Bangkok. I personally believe that travelling the world gives you different insighsts and outlooks not only on the world but on life itself. Another one of my dreams is to become a Media or Communications mogul as well as a Property Developer. I also would not mind dipping my fingers in mining.

This is  me in a nutshell. . .

Make your passion your paycheck...

Getting your paycheck doesn't have to be a drag nor does it have to feel like a visit to the dentist.
Making your passion your paycheck can make even the "bluest" of mondays feel like a day at the rio carnival.

Drive, Love and Ambition.
